This store is located at Cocheco (CO-chi-co) on N’dakinna (n-DA-ki-na), now called Dover, New Hampshire, which is the unceded traditional ancestral homeland of the Abenaki (a-BEN-a-ki), Pennacook and Wabanaki Peoples, past and present. We acknowledge and honor with gratitude the land, waterways, living beings, and the Aln8bak (Al-nuh-bak), the people who have stewarded N’dakinna (n-DA-ki-na) for many millennia.
BookShop.Org
We have set up an affiliate shop with Bookshop.org because we believe in their mission “to financially support local, independent bookstores.”
From the affiliate shop you can see our lists of recommended books or just shop around for other titles. It’s a great way to order books online and still support local!
Uncommon Goods
Uncommon Goods has been one of my go to places for unique gifts for family and friends for many years. I love their focus on community, support for artisans, and centering of sustainability. Support Eight Legged Octopus as we grow with your purchases from Uncommon Goods!
Donate to Support our “Planet, People, Place” Fund
Eight Legged Octopus is a registered benefit corporation focused on planet, people, and place. Our mission is to provide tips and products to help us live lighter on the planet, learn about and connect with the natural world, and build stronger connections between people and place. One way we meet this mission is by making it easy to donate to important non-profits in our area. See our donations “shop” in our new online store to donate to one or more selected non-profits or to our Planet, People, Place fund.
(Please note, at this time orders for products and donations have to be made separately, we are working with our website to enable seamless purchases and donations).
Holiday Gift Guide 2020
This holiday season tried to focus my gift giving and donations on local, small, and/or sustainable options wherever possible. This includes artisans working in small batches, local stores, small farms and more. The holiday season as passed, but you may still find this guide useful. Check it out!
More to come!
We are currently researching other companies to affiliate with and other products to carry. If you have a suggestion, please contact us!
